I haven't been able to find this on Dean's website yet, but there's a story on Blabbermouth about Dean launching a new, solid state Dimebag signature amp called the Dime Blacktooth with the blessing of Dime's girlfriend Rita Haney and his guitar tech, Grady Champion. The Blabbermouth story reads, in part:
Dean Guitars has just unveiled the new "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (PANTERA, DAMAGEPLAN) amp called Blacktooth. It was reportedly approved by Dimebag's longtime girlfriend Rita Haney and will retail for $699.00.
Grady Champion, one of Dimebag's former techs who'll be hitting the road with BLONDIE later this year, demonstrated the amp earlier today (Friday, January 16) during this year's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
This one is bound to stir up some strong feelings in the metal community. Dime never played this amp (I've never seen a Dean amp before except for bundled practice amps), and at the time of his death he was so into Krank amps that he left his beloved Randall for them. So what does this mean for the brilliant Krankenstein Dimebag signature head?

The signature guitars are one thing but the amp is taking it too far. I agree that this will anger many.
If there is one thing I hate about Dean guitars it is that they are continuing to make money from Dimebag even after all these years, it just shows how little creative input their designers & marketing guys have.
Signature guitars annoy me enough generally, the fact that Dean continue to crank out guitar after guitar with Dimebag's name stamped on it is just disgusting, and now an amp that, as pointed out, he'd never even remotely played or had input in?
I'd never buy any Dean guitar (or amp) after this!
Let go of dime...
Dime would NEVER approve of this. He used Kranks, if someone asked him to do a signautre amp he might just say "Why? I've got my Kranks now." It's pointless to have an old signature head he doesn't use.
Well first of all Long live the memory of Dime. I think that the initial idea of creating a signature guitar in Dime's way was a killer idea. But as far as over kill I dont know If they can do that. Face it people Dime was and still is the only thing worth a shit from dean. No disrespect to all others but Dime was the man.He loved dean and wouldnt have it any other way. I look at it like this I know his girlfriend is getting paid and I m sure the rest of his family is too. If you dont like them then dont fucking buy it. But if you want to remember Dime( Hell I cant forget him) Why not do him proud and pick up a Dime guitar. He is up there with any body big of all time, Even Cliff from Metallica, Dime influenced all that played metal. Its been 5 years this Dec and It seems like yesterday, Damn I cant believe he's gone. Time to drink a double. Peace
Dime used the same amp on all of the Pantera stuff (Studio). It was a little 1 X 12" Randall Rg-80 or the Randall isolation 12" mic thing. I believe with a MXR Flanger / Doubler, Vox Wah-wah (later the signature model Cry) and 2 Digitech Whammy Pedals. Even on the Damageplan tour he was using a Randall 4 channel rack mount pre-amp into the Kranks effects return for the power amp only.
